Introducing
Shaguftha is a specialist Early Intervention Teacher and an experienced RBT Registered Behaviour Therapist licensed by the BACB Board (USA). She graduated in Psychology from an autonomous University in India and has a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Chennai University (Level 1 ABA Certified – Applied and Behavioural Training Institute).
In her role as Early Intervention Specialist, Shaguftha leverages her extensive experience working with children on the Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asperger’s Syndrome, Dyslexia, Down’s syndrome and other Developmental delays and is responsible for the direct implementation of individualised educational plans related to skill-acquisition and behaviour reduction. She also provides individual and group intervention in a classroom setting for kids across various age groups who have developmental delays, or are at risk for delays in the areas of cognitive, adaptive behaviour, social-emotional, self-care, fine motor, gross motor and communication development.
Attributes
As a certified RBT and EI specialist, Shaguftha is responsible for the day-to-day execution of Early Intervention treatment plans and Individual development goals, including tasks such as assessing and screening new children, collecting data, co-ordinating with other specialists working with children in a 1:1 setting and liaising with parents to discuss progress.
Her primary focus is to promote independence by empowering kids to communicate effectively within their environment. She does so in alignment with the multidisciplinary team at Ability Pediatric Rehabilitation Medical Center (Managed by Hayati Health Center).
